Round opening in the deeper Dryerboxes, what gives
« on: April 10, 2012, 10:44:39 AM »
Why does the 4” pipe need to be squeezed smaller to fit the hole in the dryer box, model 500?
Isn’t that a 4” round opening?

The model 425, 500 and 4D are made for a 2x4 wall that has one firring strip on it, so its 4.25” deep, and yes the pipe is 4” round but a keen eye will note that the hole or port is not perfectly round.  This is due to the necessity of leaving some room for the flex and worm drive clamp to get around the back side of the penetrating pipe.  Good question Gordon.
