Does the DryerBox comply with 504.3 as a “cleanout”
« on: February 16, 2012, 10:27:04 AM »

Can the use of your Dryer Box comply with Section 504.3 of the IMC as it relates to the cleanout requirement?  And if so, what documentation can you provide.  Thanks

Great Question Charles and thanks.
Yes, the Dryerbox receptacle can and does meet the requirements as a cleanout opening for the dryer vent system.  When a cleanout is required by Section 504.3, the dryerbox can be installed for this purpose.  This link points to the signed and sealed engineer’s letter that you may want to provide your code compliance officer.  Good luck
